The word was that they needed the money for clients moving out of their trusts. At the time they were selling elsewhere too (like neu).

Re the speeding ticket, they could have got some free advertising by stating that Bell Potter had come out with a $1.20 price target. But then knowing that & not saying it could mean that one is aware of information that is likely to effect the share price without announcing it. Hence better to say nothing (tis are good at that)!
