hang on forro.. from what you just said, you were attempting to manipulate the price. that was the problem. not the order type you use. it's a question of intent - and yes price manipulation does include ticking it down on the close and being first to buy in the morning.

I use interactive brokers and have no problems using the accum/distribute algo order functions. equally I don't try to actually manipulate any prices
