A lot of pent up anger over CN's salary but you have to ask what was the alternative with ME retiring? I've heard newly qualified mining engineers earn around 200k+ pa so I would assume CN could earn a fair dollar in the mining industry. IMO it's too early to judge her yet and I'm happy to wait and see how she goes. I would say she has a personal desire to see her Kenyan "baby" assets grow and prosper and if she makes a buck out of them, I'm sure the rest of us will as well.
Happy to hear thoughts on who would have been a better choice to skipper FAR with experience and contacts in Africa. Most of the time cheaper isn't better. Lets all show some aussie spirit and give her a go. We can judge her performance in a years time. That extra 200k a year may just be worth it.
Obviously she had something going for her when she secured those Kenyan blocks which may just be the olive branch FAR needed. Success on the east coast, if FAR was not immediately taken over, would allow them to drill Senegal holding a much bigger slice of the pie.
