What do they do in Europe where bugger all own property? They don't sit around moping about property ownership out and busy living life, having fun and staying healthy.

Priorities are different for everyone. Old Australia cares more about owning property than young Australia.

Some people in this forum need to open up the wallet and get out of the house and look around at what's really going on. Consumerism is alive and well in Australia. If you want to live in a treehouse and play chess by all means but you have to know you are in the very small minority.
