I been trading shares since the early 1980s and seen quite a number of crashes and recessions during that time.

Both the market and we will recover, but it's kinda useless to chase stuff that not in demand any more.

When both BHP and RIO is cutting back on expenditure, the small guys will start to drop by the wayside as we saw w / KZL and MBN lately.

We'll need to turn from mostly resource-minnows toward healthcare, bio (yes, bio - as an aside, I do wonder if last night's Foolish reco made any diff. for the shares mentioned), REITs and other industrials IMO.

One always just need to trade the trade and there's always something that goes up and is green, even today.

An example is APA; not a daytrade as such, but still a reasonable return for a week in this market. RMD, CMJ are other examples, and of course as well as successful daytrades for a lot of us in CNX (still waiting for the gap to fill, not a trade yet IMO) and even MBN.

Our China-focus and reliance will diminish in time and perhaps instead of Australia being the quarry of the world, we will be the bread-basket of the world and will make lots of monies out of Goodman-Fielder and its ilk.

    Have a good day all!
