how many stocks do you know of manage to hold their price or rise during a buy back...esp in this market...

I've been watching a few stocks that are doing buy backs for quite awhile....and like ozl the prices have sustained dramatic drops...

the thinking in the past has been that a buy back would put a floor under the share price.....does not seem to apply anymore.....

now its about waiting for pullbacks and then buying but not staying in the market to underpin the share price.....
as for management..well they may have been lucky to get their jobs just at the right time...

the last lot that were in charge sent it to the wall....

with global markets the way they are its hard to determine who is at fault for many falling share prices

about the only criteria you have is to assets profits and debts and assets....

dont know of all that many stocks that have fully recovered from GFC 1 hope there won't be a GFC2 but if it were to happen...better to be in a stock with no debt ,plenty of cash in the bank and which will still has the potential capacity to pay a dividend.....
today saw a new low$7.99 (79c pre recon)

given there are basically no buyers of consequence in the market and there are plenty of sells....the ratio of buyers and sellers is a reflection of how illiquid the stock has become...
pre -recon...always plenty of buyer and sellers ..if u wanted out...it was not hard to get a buyer.......now they are sitting on the fence waiting for sell orders and using all sorts of tricks to trigger stop losses......

for now ..people have a choice trade it and hope to buy back on lows....sit on the stock and collect divs.....or sell and walk off....

watch this one every day and the trading in it is pathetic to what it used to be......appears to be so well controlled that the av traders has very little hope of winning...unless they get in cheap and sit them out ......
