graphite is also used in a lot of batteries/electrical equipment as a neutral non-degrading element. Graphite isn't degraded by acids/bases but still conducts electricity.

It really cannot be replaced in modern batteries and even nuclear powerplants (graphite cores).

So yes, demand will increase but it is also a very abundant element.
