Aussies can have a punch up minute and then be laughing about the next. But Japanese & Chinese are different. If you offend them, they wont play ball anymore. If we don't learn that quick, I afraid it bye bye to Aussie jobs and mining and welcome to the next Greek economy.

BHP strikers told they are hurting themselves.

Unionised workers across six of the BHP-Mitsubishi operated coalmines in central Queensland are threatening to again walk off the job as part of rolling stoppages that have battered the company's bottom line since last July.

The union is demanding a third break on night shifts, beefed-up union privileges (including paid monthly meetings and on-site noticeboards).

There is also disagreement over mine site specialist safety officers, which the company wants to be able to employ outside the enterprise bargaining agreement.

The union also wants BHP-Mitsubishi to rule out any move to a seven days on, seven days off roster (so Japanese fly in-out worker not possible).
