Newcrest has the Telfer mine which is gold and copper which seems to work well
Know what you mean about BSM (base metals) I got a little burnt there and a couple of mates got hung out to dry on that one due to the poor recoveries.
As for Ashburton being refractory , refractory by those in the industry is probably not a good term to cmpare apples with apples, use to mean around 60% recovery or less by CIP but now with fine grinding and Albion type processes previous refractory ore can run 95% recovery admitadly higher OPEX and CAPEX but that can be reduced through flotation for mass recovery before grinding.
