Abunda's lateral was definitely cut short for some reason, this usually occurs because of mechanical issues.

    From RFE -

"is pleased to announce that the Abunda #1-21H well spudded at 9.40am (United States CDT) on September 21, 2011.

This Red Fork operated well will be drilled to a vertical depth of approximately 3,100 feet, with an estimated further 4,200 feet of lateral to be drilled in the Mississippi Lime formation to an approximate total depth drilled of 8,400 feet."

So as you can see 4,200 feet of lateral was planned. But at completion RFE announce -

"Approximately 3,400 feet of lateral was successfully drilled in the Mississippi Lime formation"

So they came up 800ft short of their planned lateral length, and 800ft short of tahara's lateral.

You can also see how much bigger the frac was on Tahara by the amount of water injected into the wells, by comparison -

    - Tahara took 70,000 barrels of water to stimulate, lateral length 4,200 ft. 12 stage frac

    - Abunda took 40,000 barrels of water to stimulate, lateral length 3,400 ft. Number of frac's undisclosed

The shorter the lateral the less exposure you have to the productive zone which usually occurs in lower flow rates and recoveries. The losses are also compounded as not only are you losing 800ft of the well bore in the productive zone you are also losing further exposure to fracture stimulation which means less area for the oil to propagate to the well bore.
