To be sure there are more than a few ASX resource stocks selling for near their cash backing. Can I beg the indulgence of holders to just note the announcement by BHP Billiton that they are freezing any project approvals for six months. I hear you asking - what has this got to do with dear old Marathon.
Back in the days before the SA Govt took away Mount Gee - I recall the then Premier Mike Rann saying things that lead me to believe he was thinking along the lines - "why does SA need a little orebody like Mount Gee when we have Olympic Dam out the other side of black stump". Perhaps somebody has a URL to a relevant Mike Rann utterance.
Anyway - all the best to MTN in their quest for a project - their cash is not so huge they can afford mistakes. And with ASX resources trending down - MTN need be in no rush.
