Shonan, when I refer to structure it's referring to how price is created, the detail that went into creating that constant ohlc. When you look at an indicator you're glossing over all the important stuff. Basically a skilled TA can look at price and know what information a Stoch, RSI, MACD etc would give without any need to plot it. The primary purpose of most indicators is to alert oversold/overbought and trend data. This information however is already available in time/price/volume.

As an example a stoch when oversold on a daily can trigger a reversal after three days or three months, knowing which won't come from information contained in the oscillator, it will come from information contained in time/price/volume. While your post contained quantity, it lacked the detail that makes all the difference. There are very distinct patterns of behaviour across so many broader structures, the key is knowing which pattern has the greater influence, not the shape of a MACD. When you are good enough to work that out you'll know exactly when an indicator will fail and why.

    Cheers
