    that graph has to be the most stupid comparison...
    wonder how many are sucked in...
    cash cannot grow, it does not appreciate in value, in fact it does the opposite

    *** the graph compares earnings on cash at around 5%, but fails to show inflation of 3% on the whole deposit

    ****the graph ignores income earning on the property
    but shows a fall in property prices,

    ****that distorted graph shows income on the cash deposit as growth...wrong it is earnings

    you either compare income between the two
    or capital growth or declines between the two

    so to compare the two accurately
    the cash at bank value declined by 3% due to inflation in prices, and had income around 5%
    the property declined in value, since they use median values, but the underlying inflation figure will not apply
    the property had income around 4%
    the end result.....both capital values declined by a similar amount
    cash earnt 5% compared to property 4%

    who made the graph ????? where is your source...they should be laughed out of town

    ps I dont agree lower and middle range property has declined, only higher value property declined, which pulled the median lower
