Then 'the Australian people' should have bought the shares in the companies initially.... oh that's right they did... or at least the shareholders did. The shareholders took the risks and now 'the Australian people' collectively wish to reap the rewards without suffering the pain of not knowing whether the companies the shareholders invested in would rise or fall.
