...or the lack of analyst ability to get insto and retail investors on board.

Portablealpha is like the twin mind of Peter Cook. LOL He blamed everyone other than Biota Management - has it not occur to him share analysts are put off by a totaly useless management.

To illustrate how useless the CEO is let me quote a number of incidents no competent CEO woul make:

Example 1) Recently Peter Cook cannot even remember the year BARDA funding is granted!

Example 2) In the 24 October 2007 AGM after Gilead/Roche reported a sharp drop in Tamiflu pandemic sales, Peter Cook told shareholders the factors causing the drop in Tamiflu sales do not apply to Relenza. He said: "There is therefore no reason to assume that the down turn in volumes being experienced by Roche with Tamiflu should be experienced by GSK with Relenza.

Less than 24 hours later, on 25 October, Peter Cook reported a 60% dropped in Relenza sales to the ASX and Peter Cook commented, “The Q1 figures are consistent with Biota’s expectation that GSK will sell its installed capacity over the year. These are the summer quarter sales in the northern hemisphere and are typically the lowest of the year”.

Example 3)When BTA announced the Relenza Q3 royalty of $32.3m on 23/04/09 at the outbreak of the H1N1 flu the sp shot up.

A few days later on PertNow newspaper, PC said "When we went through the avian influenza event four years ago, every time there was a report of a goose or duck dying in Europe our stock price went up." and "To assert, right now, that this (swine flu) will cause a massive rise in sales, well, that class of response is erroneous and lacks understanding."

Less than a week later, on 04/05/2009 Peter Cook announced "Important GSK initiatives to new influenza A (H1N1) strain" - that GSK was increasing production to cope with the massive rise in demand.

Example 4) What about Peter Cook announcing his momentous settlement of the law suit with GSK and he Peter Cook had normalised relationship with GSK for which Peter Cook collected half a million of free oopies. Peter Cook then went on to praise GSK (like potablealpha praising BTA Management) at every opportunity. Years on we know the "normalised GSK relationship" was one big lie.

    Example 5)
What about the time when Relenza royalty was Biota main income and Peter Cook announced the wrong sale figure. It took days for Peter Cook to realise his mistake and when announcing the correction Peter Cook blamed GSK eventhough GSK broacasted the reults on the net.

portablealpha will know of more examples but had been steadfastly praising BTA management since he came onboard HC. Some postings almost sound like Peter Cook himself!
