re: Ann: Excellent Iron Results at Bencubbin ...
its not really good
naturally, the benefaction grade (70%) & quality of the ore, with a grind size of 75 microns, is good. for low grade magnetite that is to be upgraded, it is important to have a high (coarse) grind size, unlike the large magnetite projects (eg. GBG) that have a low (fine) grind size of around 25 microns. the higher the grind size the better (eg. AHN has around 105 microns)
the other good thing about the announcement was the ore is shallow, from 24 metres
but the downwide of the announcement is the ore body is thin, only 5 to 11 metres thick at this stage of exploration
athough they are near railway, there are companies, such as ROY, that are also near a railway, have a 75 micron grindsize, but have hundreds of millions of tonnes of this magnetite, hundreds of metres thick
at this stage, hard to see anything economic coming from 5 to 11 metre thickness of 32% magnetite
