Fair crack of the whip people. To the best of my knowledge Bloom are not fishing in the <5kw commercial/residential market. A load of other things could be said, but no point.

Part of the reason I am in CFU is because whilst others already have mCHP units in the market, some even fuel cell based, many are of the PEM variety.

Those in the fuel cell game talk of the relative attributes of each technology but generally SOFC is seen as hte most desirable as it offers the highest electrical effecieny. Heating is important, but industry is concerned about the grid/power generation aspect first so even those with current PEM based fuel cell mCHPs appear motivated to develop SOFC based units.

So Aisin started developing their SOFC in something like 2009 and is now appearing in Japan in units earlier this year. Their finished product offers less power, less effeciently then Gennex at no cost saving. So on merit there is no performance or economics base for them to be expect to enjoy success outside of Japan where they have strong business links with the players.

So who else does SOFC stacks? Well main comp seems to be Hexis and their Galileo...but again produces less power less effeciently.

So from a SOFC perspective we seem to be technically ahead of the others in OUR game. Bloom don't factor in. Mitsui/Tokyo gas have had Bluegen on test for nearly two years and seem to be using it for benchmarking with their political climate not overly willing to embrace an Australian company.

So I share everyone's concern about progress...but lets not level unfair technical criticism against the company.
