You have to be kidding! If Abbott were to accept the Malaysian non-solution then Abbott will be taking possession of the blame for the increase in boat people because if the numbers were to stop or decrease Labor would have a legitimate call that if he had accepted earlier we would not have seen the frequent arrivals of late.
A part of Abbott's strong stance is based on the treatment of asylum seekers in Malaysia. If so much as even one were to be harmed, he would be crucified in the electorate...Labor would make sure of that.
He is RIGHT to stay true to his word on this one.
