the whole shorting situation in Lynas and the way the instos are able to walk the price down has been a real mystery to me. I have never seen the like of it in 20 years of trading my own account. Yesterday was particularly bizzare. I'm buggered if I know where that ~ 60 million shares came from to sell the market. Some suggested it was 'profit taking', but that's BS. The stock has done very little volume under 90c over recent times - who was actually making "profit"?
The price action today makes it seem all the more a mystery. It is going up right now at a reasonable clip with very little selling resistance.
It's been a real lesson, this stock. I think the landscape for trading has really changed over the last 12 months or so. LYC has bought it into focus ( for me at least)
