What you allude to would have come to light very early in the piece, the fact remains this stunt was pulled within almost 48 hours of posting the cheque which suggests that more than likely Viktoy for whatever reason wanted to pull out of the deal.

This could have started at a drunken dinner party with bets placed, the objective to just clean up in the difference in the share price. It would not be hard to place stooges to buy shares, doing this from a foreign country. He may even have been able to create false identities to buy shares in, who knows

He was in Australia having talks with Andrew so that could have covered his travel situation. There was the book well that would not have cost that much.

Whatever his reasons the fact remains that we have all been ripped off.

Don't expect the board to make announcements they would be under instructions to say nothing.
