(MENAFN - ProactiveInvestors - Australia) Samson Oil & Gas (ASX: SSN) is preparing to fracture stimulate its Spirit of America II well in the Hawk Springs Project in Goshen County, Wyoming.

The well had recovered 307 barrels of fluid with a 20% oil cut during the swabbing process. This oil was measured at 33 degrees API with very low sulphur of 0.23%.

Samson will now move a workover rig to the location and frac the well in a bit to increase productivity of the reservoir.

Meanwhile, the company said its Australia II 12KA6 1-29H well appears to be flowing at rates comparable to wells targeting the eastern Montana Bakken oil play that have 10,000 feet long laterals and 30 frac stages.

The well has flowed oil at a rate of between 48 to 244 barrels per day from a short lateral with 13 frac stages.

Samson is also preparing to ensure that the horizontal section of its Defender US.33 2-29H well is clean and free of sand and debris.

A recent jet pump test resulted in an average flow of 26 barrels of oil per day with the company noting the wellbore was last cleaned out on November 16, 2011.
