Small oil and gas explorer Texon Petroleum, whose market cap is $125 million, was forced to admit a boo-boo yesterday after it failed to provide updated interest notices for its chairman John Armstrong and chief executive David Mason within the required time frame. And its excuse was the ASX equivalent of “the dog ate my homework”. Company secretary Des Olling took the blame for the lapse, admitting to being “preoccupied” with the “planning and lead-up work necessary for the smooth running” of the company’s AGM on May 26. “.?.?. the omission to lodge the 3&s was directly mine.?.?.”
We now know that Armstrong and Mason have exercised 6.93 million options and allowed another 6.25 million to lapse.
