    I don't agree that is naked short selling at all. You have bought and THEN sold and there will be settlements for both transactions. Naked shorting is selling something you don't own and have not borrowed shares - and then later buying to cover.

    I see the two as entirely different things. What Timmo69 descibes is fine (by me), but it isn't naked short selling.
