Only reason I'm holding NCM is I have faith in the long term, in gold, and in the company (in spite of the management). But, I thought ERA was a good long-term bet when I bought at around $21 a couple of years ago. My stop was triggered just below $19. It's now trading in a range around $1.30.
Not saying NCM is going the same way, there are significant differences between the two companies that go beyond what they mine (like ERAs one-trick-pony Ranger mine running out of product). My point is...
I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW FAR NEWCREST HAS FALLEN ALREADY. Really, I just can't. The difference this time is I'm listening to those voices ... "surely it can't go lower than $28" ... "surely $24 is the bottom" ... "below $23, surely that's a buy"
I'm sorry, this isn't helping at all. I'll stop.
