Slightly different but real: A widow friend of Mrs H had her mortgage with Comm Bank [originally typed "Conn Bank but changed it] extinguished. She was a Storm Financial victim.
I don't know what dastardly deed the bank committed but I am sure there were many during the heady days of the bubble. This lady owned her own home and would have been receiving some super/pension from her dead husband, but there would not have been enough to justify such a loan. A friend of her's also got her deeds back.
