The Storm disaster is a story that makes good reading.
It is hard to be critical of actions when you are not the person involved, but from what I have read over the years no one was free of blame. Greed was the primary motive of all.
Its inconceivable that any of these people who took out the loans could have spent any time reading or discussing their actions, as for the banks responsibility I would expect that the loans officer was just another unqualified clerk with little or no actual practical experience of the business world of finance
