Not sure where you are living, but I've been to the RSPCA in Burwood, Victoria today and they have a beautiful chocolate burmese up for adoption. She's passed all the behavioural tests and is ready for someone to take her as a new pet.

There were some beautiful cats there - including a grey Chinchilla less than a year old, a couple of gorgeous calico cats and a few moggies.
No kittens today.
Apparently they have changed their policy from 28 days and if not adopted, they would be euthanased, to having as much time as necessary to be adopted. The behaviour and health tests would eliminate some cats (and dogs) from the adoption process, but this change is a very good result imo.
