AVB has managed to take our copper holdings from 60,000t to hearly 500,000 tons contained and about the same in gold.(thats nearly $4.5 billion in ground value) Most of this was put together in the last 12-18 months. All the ore bodies are open and a blind man can see AVB will make 1million tons contained. The company is capped at approx $60m with $11m in cash and its bad management? Brokers have discounted the value of the stock to 17c on numerous occassions and the deposits are expanding every day they put a hole in the ground and thats bad management?
The copper price is still around $3.30lb and the DOW is still over 12500 and yet the stock is around 5c. For those who have missed the obvious - the market is in deep trouble. The companies assets are tier 1 stuff and the management have not been wasting money. Clearly they have decided to prove up a world class resource. The area has a number of smelters needing feed stock, so the cards are strongly with AVB for that option. The 'risk' is so far off the table with all emerging companies, AVB has actually done alright considering it does not need cash. I am the first to stick it to management if they have made serious mistakes, but this market is not rewarding results at all. I am sticking around. I guess if someone bids 15-20c for the company, this board will light up with people saying it's far too cheap?
In super bad markets like this, people want to blame mangement as an easy target when the price is down. AVB does not have a management problem. AVB has the same problem as every one else. The best sorts of companies to own when things improve, will be companies with very good assets and i have no problem with these guys or the assets. dyor.
