Hmmm ... "...fed a group of mice with PMD a high-cholesterol diet for six weeks ... "
Coronary heart disease is the restriction of arteries caused by Atheroclerosis ... the build up of cholesterol and fats creating plaques that can block arteries leading to the heart = cardiac infarction (heart attack).
If I accept the argument and take Cholesterol and Saturated Fats out of the equation then WOT CAUSES ATHEROCLEROSIS ???
Cholesterol is produced in the Liver while we sleep and is important .. only about 1/3 of cholesterol present comes from human diet.
Statins don't attempt to eliminate cholesterol completely but to lower levels thought dangerous and contributing to Atheroclerosis.
I have been on Lipitor/Lipex for 24 years with no known side effects having lost grandfather/father to atheroclerosis/heart attack ..
A heart stress test a year ago and heart specialist recommending 'CRESTOR' did see side effects in that Crestor appears to be too strong and the dose needs to be lowered .. e.g. Lipitor/Lipex 20Mg = Crestor 10Mg.
