That is a short sighted view, hehe sorry had to chuck in the pun...

If you are only looking at how this impacts shorters yes this is the case. But this also has an impact on those going long. If they can't afford the increased margin then they have to sell.

The underlying fact is the increase in margin deposit is a reflection of IG Markets assessment of BBG.

I'm happy with my investment, I just don't see this as a good sign.
