A-Cap Resources Targets Uranium From Botswana Mine by 2015 2012-06-27 11:59:38.862 GMT
By Jerry Bungu June 27 (Bloomberg) -- A-Cap Resources Ltd., an Australian nickel, uranium and diamond explorer, says it will produce uranium from its Letlhakane deposit in Botswana by 2015. “Letlhakane is well within the top 10 largest undeveloped uranium deposits in the world,’’ Chief Executive Officer Steve Groves said at a conference today in Gaborone, the capital. The company has spent about 250 million pula ($32 million) developing the project since the deposit was discovered in 2006, Groves said. Rodney Fripp, the chief executive officer of Impact Minerals Ltd. says the Australian exploration company “discovered proterozoic uranium in the Mahalapye area, which is of the type found in the Athabasca Basin of Canada and bulk tonnage deposits similar to those at Rossing in Namibia.”
