whilst Aus2 may not be comercial in it's own right it has proved the comerciality of the area.

This well was a short lateral and has produced at rates comparable to nearby wells-FACT.

So when you develop a play you drill a shorter lateral to minimise cost if the area turns out to be a dud.

Now that that AUS2 has proven the area I expect the next wells will have longer laterals and produce at a much higer rate. Sounds like a good approach to me.
