The world's debt and the price of gold are not interconnected. They may be in your tiny mind but not in the minds of the big punters who have been riding the gold elevator up, and are now, more than likely, riding it all the way back to the lobby, leaving the gullible goldbugs holding the baby.

If enough gold punters decide to sell, the world's debt doesn't matter two hoots, gold's gonna plunge or even worse, crash.

What's Mike Baloney and Dim Sinclair saying ATM? Not much from what I can gather, probably locked away in their offices avoiding abusive phone calls and emails from angry goldbugs.

I don't blame them, they've been promised a lotto win and it hasn't happened. One poster here some time back said he fully expected to be living in Toorak or Vaucluse as the rest of society withered on the vine and the goldbugs got rich.

Charles Ponzi promised his investors untold riches as well and that was in 1910.
