LATEST INTERSECTIONS SHOW POTENTIAL FOR A NEW OPEN PIT
Integra Mining Limited (ASX:IGR) is pleased to report that high-grade assays from RC and diamond drilling at the Santa and Fly Camp areas at the Randalls Gold Project near Kalgoorlie have provided more evidence of the development potential for new open pits.
The results include:-
• 10 metres at 4.78 g/t gold, including
o 1 metres at 23.70 g/t gold
• 2.3 metres at 11.12 g/t gold
• 8 metres at 4.75 g/t gold,
• 14.2 metres at 2.40 g/t gold,
• 6.6 metres at 4.75 g/t gold,
Fly Camp is located 16km east of the Randalls Gold Processing Facility (Figure 1). Resource drilling designed to enable modelling of extensions to potential open pit mineralisation at Fly Camp, along the Santa Trend (Figure 2). Additional RC drilling was conducted in the Fly Camp area to close off the mineralisation, which remained open along strike in the vicinity of the optimised pit shell walls.
The current results support the extension of shallow gold mineralisation, effectively from surface, with intercepts including 8m at 4.75 g/t gold from 6m, 7m at 2.69 g/t gold from 7m and 5m at 2.25 g/t gold from 6m (Figure 3).
Modelling of the Fly Camp and Santa North gold mineralisation was conducted in late 2011 and a preliminary pit optimisation and design was carried out on the Santa-Fly Camp model in early 2012.
The open pit optimisation, carried out using A$1600/oz gold price and a 1 g/t gold cut-off grade, returned optimised open pit shells in the order of 42,000 ounces for Fly Camp and 48,000 ounces for Santa (Figure 4).
A total Indicated and Inferred Mineral Resource estimate of 6Mt at 2.6 g/t gold for a contained 500,000 ounces (Table 2) was announced for the Santa Area by Integra in January 2011 (see ASX announcement 25th January 2011).
Geotechnical evaluation and metallurgical test-work on samples from recent drilling at Fly Camp are currently being carried out. Initial results indicate total recoveries in the order of approximately 93% gold with gravity recoveries between 34 to 84%.
High-grade results have been received for a deep diamond hole drilled on the western side of the Santa deposit for geotechnical purposes. The hole intersected very broad zones of discontinuous sulphide mineralisation. The mineralised zone of magnetite and pyrrhotite rich, banded iron formation is closely associated with coarse grained to (locally) massive arsenopyrite.
Visible gold was observed within sulphide rich banded iron formation units within the hole. Highgrades results included 6.6m at 4.75 g/t gold from 192.9m, including 0.95m at 15.64 g/t gold (Figure 3).
The diamond drill hole and two RC drill holes with diamond tails drilled on the eastern side of the Santa deposit returned results including 11m at 2.35 g/t gold from 97m and 2.30m at 11.20 g/t gold from 154.70m.
My comments:
Another solid drilling result. IGR is concurrently drilling here, there and everywhere.
It's a pity IGR has not released in one announcement to the market a comprehensive plan for all these drilling campaigns so one can easily reference off what has been achieved with each drilling release.
Eg. At Santa and Fly Camp areas at the Randalls Gold Project gold resources currently are. We will be drllling x metres at Santa and Fly Camp areas at the Randalls Gold Project with the aim of ...
