    I like your thinking however FIRB (Australian Foreign Investment Review Board) has already told China forget it as far as owning Australian RE enterprises.

    They can take a stake but not buy out as at the moment RE is seen as strategic by FIRB.

    That isn't to say China are not doing all they can to hold up Lynas and others from getting to market imo.

    What is their end game though? If China cant buy Lynas etc, do they stop LYC from competing for as long as possible to allow them to get their own house in order as far as producing RE economically and cleanly? Do they have another motive? IE get a share of Lynas for a relatively cheap price then magically Lynas stops running into political hurdles in Malaysia?

    Thoughts on other outcomes for China and RE enterprises outside China anyone?
