    Even a small increase in GST would be preferable than this awful hotch-potch of a tax where business owners don't even know how much it's going to impact them.

    However, I don't think this is the time to be adding any taxes or going into massive debt. But it seems Gillard has had a personal agenda and she hasn't given any thought to the economy. Could be she wants to leave the worst mess she can for the libs.

    And yet, if she had managed the country well, held off her pet tax until after the next election, there is a possibility she could have run for a second term. Strange political decisions.

    Good on the NZ PM - perhaps he is showing Australia the sensible way in these fragile economic times...LOL
