In defence of DJS board, I don't understand the extreme criticism of them in this matter.
Their announcements on this were polite "managerial speak" for: "This offer is a load of crap". They weren't "muppets". Any intelligent reading of the Board's announcements show that the offer had no substance. And that's what the Board believed The company making the offer had no substance. And that's what the Board believed. Why would anybody take any notice of the offer? The DJS executives had made investigations and could find nothing of substance either in the offer or about the company. What more do people want? Probably, black and white highly defamatory statements.
The only muppets were the ones who bought in on the offer. Anybody reading DJS announcements on this would have been suspicious and noted the extreme (if somewhat polite) reservations expressed by the Board.
All that some saw, however, was a "takeover bid" and bought. Dear me.
