I've owned gold since 2004 and I have to say Jim is a nut. Anyone with half a brain should be very wary of people that demonstrate such certainty in their views.

There is a quote to the effect that wise people are often ignored because they are naturally uncertain of their views i.e. they don't claim they "know" stuff, while fanatics are listened to because they provide certainty in a very uncertain world.

For me thats advice worth remembering for although I own gold I'm not going to tell anyone I "know" its going to $800 or $8000.

My LT Buy status is on the basis that gold is some insurance against the worst circumstances (high inflation/war etc). At the end of the day its just an asset and every asset has its 10-20year time in the sun usually followed by 10-20years in the dark.
