Tinkler still seeking funds. Needs about $500m more- could be equity, mezzanine, or debt he is seeking. Japanese groups Itochu and Idemitsu are said to be supportive. Downgrades have helped Tinkler: pundits thought a $6 offer would be made, then $5.50, and now people are saying around $5 might get it.
A dark day on the market today/tomorrow and WHC could fall to $4.00? That's only a few % down. I would be surprised if Mr Tinkler offered less than a 30% premium. A $5.20 offer? Or a $5 offer and then a small offer rise later?
