simple response
1. if in indonesian waters, they can look after distress signals 2. immediate 20 year jail term for all boat staff involved...mandatory, no exeptions 3. burning of all craft 4. people who are on boats transferred to xmas island. No access to email, phones or ciggies... 5. people given temporary visas, on ongoing basis. if you leave australia, ever, never to return. no right for family reunion. 6. as thanks to australia, immediate 5 year work program...no access to centrelink. will need to learn english at night.
