The alleged repudiation by Nexus occurred in May 2009 but the claim wasn't filed by Sedco until July 2011. This has the feel of desperation to me. If you believed you had a strong claim for nearly $70mm why wait over 2 years to prosecute it? Could it have something to do with Sedco's desperate need to find sources of funds to settle their Macondo liability? IMO the timing has the feel about it of lets see if we can screw a settlement.
