Australian Greens senator Sarah Hanson-Young says the Labor party doesn't have values.

She was commenting on a push from NSW Labor secretary Sam Dastyari for the Labor party to no longer provide the Greens automatic preferential treatment in any future preference negotiations.

Senator Hanson-Young told Sky News this would basically be handing the Coalition control of the Senate, and that means bringing back Work Choices, destroying the price on carbon, and towing boats back.

Mr Dastyari claims for too long too many people in the Labor party have been dealing with the Greens with kid gloves and criticised the Greens for not compromising on the asylum seeker issue and says some of their policies are 'extreme'.
