    Hi Kranky,

If there are easements already in place , that's some of the battle done. Trouble with easements is that they can be of any width and also if the sharing service line in that easement is gas....well that's not really the preferred shared line for obvious reason ; so in a mid to large percentage of the case IMO they would have to widen easements in some cases in order to sink that line; it can't be done up close to the gas line. So they very well may need to apply for easements to be widened, and planning for pump stations ; As you know; if you have an easement going through your land you can't build anything on it; increase of existing easements may be a significant problem. If that was something that was being planned even if it was something that the owners were being made aware that a new excavation through the existing easement was forthcoming ; it would be common knowledge, but it's not.

I agree with you with the rail line; if Exergen are to get the show on the road by the time ESI have a commerical plant up and running; the train line is a no go; it just wouldn't make it. Slurry line , pumping that stuff 150km , in that instance they will use PE Poly pipe; it's a hard wearing pipe; but pumping slurry does require a hell of a lot of pipe maintenance; and with that pipe buried below ground; I'd assume that there will be failures at different points on that pipe over frequent enough time;shut down, dig it up , repair, reinstate.

As you say, yes it's going to be very interesting times in the BC world soon. A slurry pipeline will be a massive cost, maintain it will be an ungoing huge cost. At least with a train line other areas can also reap the benefits. Unfortunately slurry line is A to B with no room for anyone in between to jump on. If there is a requirement down the line to increase output; then a bigger line has to be put down as opposed to adding a few extra carriages on. They will need to be without any doubt that Exergen is the way to go before they put one bucket in the ground and they will defiantly need to have that pipe correctly sized and planned for future increased output; if they are wrong; there's a lot of digging and replacing.

The actual plant seems to be a small problem in comparison
