I had a read of some of your posts.

1) I would like to say that using gold stocks to measure the "health" of a gold bull market is not entirely accurate, as gold STOCKS tend to follow the STOCK market.

You will find it more useful to track the bullion price in numerous currencies to give you a better picture.

2) you compared the current level of gold to oil in 2008 and gold in 1981(the top was actually early 1980 by the way) There is a significant difference between the current price of gold and those 2 events, I will leave it to you to figure it out if you can.

3) gold may correct at lower levels than todays price(although I dont believe that 800 is on the cards at the moment because many gold producers would be out of business around that price) although I would say that in the event of another GFC event, gold may quickly re visit 1100-1200 temporarily.

4) Gold is money, if you study history you will find aristotle defined the properties of money, gold and silver fit the description and have served as money for 4000 yrs, every attempt at fiat currency has failed since then. If you want to go ahead and deny the utility and definition of a commodity that is also a currency go ahead, however billions of people in the world disagree with you.

5) Finally if gold enters a secular bear market now as it did between 1980-2000, the it will be after the weakest bull market in gold in the last 100yrs. Now considering we are in the midst of the worst financial crisis in living memory, seems unlikely to me.

How about this. Go short on gold and stay short for 5 yrs to back up your conviction. See how you go.

I prefer my chances staying long.
