Cheers mate but don't get me wrong. I'm still very worried and I definately think that investors were milked too many times. I am however pleased to see that there is a slight glimmer of hope as that light looked to have been all but extinuished a little while back.
Keen to see a follow up announcement though. If these engineering services aren't part of a plan to get Colts manufacturing facilities up and running in preparation for a major order by the Canadian govt then the excitment is all for nothing.
The reason that I find this exciting is that govts have a tendancy / desire to have secure local suppliers within their own domain for critical weapons systems. Local manufacture with local labour is often a promise that suppliers will make in order to secure a contract for ongoing business. Just look at Austal (ASB) who are now building half the ships in the new US fleet. They promised to build a ship yard in Alabama after Katrina in order to build all these new high tech ships. Same with the French building all these APCs in rural Victoria for the Australian Army. Its costs more but is politically more acceptable if they can say its build locally and the extra cost is just build into the price.
Just hope that is what is going on here and that it is a sign the Colt Canada has been promised orders which are yet to be announced. If MST gets is cut then it at least has a revenue stream to help pay the bills while they hunt for a bigger fish.
