Yeah that just screams lateral to me. 6.3% He is very high. I guess we don't know whether it's that high throughout the reservoir or whether it's fractionated.

Might not even need to frac it, or indeed even to drill a lateral if they use air drilling.

I don't know how they drilled Magee-1, but I suspect since it was a wildcat they drilled it well overbalanced, so there may also be significant formation damage that choked up the wellbore.

I know of wells in Queensland that tested that rate or even less when drilled with mud then flowed up to 1MMcfd just from switching to air drilling.

Ooraminna-2 is another example closer to home - went from 11 Mcfd in O-1 to 150 Mcfd in O-2.

If they could get Magee-2 up to 1 MMcfd (not unreasonable IMO) that would be 63 Mcfd of helium which generally sells I think for 20-30 times the price of natural gas. Anyone got an up-to-date figure on the US helium price?

So 1 MMcfd from Magee-2 would be equivalent to somewhere between 2 and 3 MMcfd of ordinary natural gas in terms of value. Which is good, but... for a single well in the middle of nowhere it's not a barnstormer in itself. Would probably need some sort of separation plant and a compressor and then reinject the natural gas and truck out the helium. I dunno.
