Wrong. Its not illegal to seek asylum...but these boat arrivals are not seeking asylum. They leave their country with papers, fly into Indonesia, where they are safe and now in asylum. They are no longer asylum seekers. They then destroy papers and arrive with no passports or visas...they are therefore illegal immigrants...taking up places of genuine refugees living in dust bowls with little food and shelter, and no money to buy a passage. In any event, the Afghans of military age which most are, ought to be back joining their army.
