    Good analysis Rockist.

I see from today’s ABID Review EHR is maintaining their rate of USD120 – USD140/MWh

When looking at the presentation you mentioned, caution is required comparing pesos with USD over time; there has been crazy fluctuations in rates. Since 2001 the exchange rate has varied from fixed at 1:1 with USD to 1:4 USD but the chart in the presentation is handy to show the average price rocketing in recent years. Clean energy tariffs have in the past been up to 40% premium over the market price.

The Argentine government has introduced two main regulatory instruments to promote renewable energy: competitive bidding, and feed-in tariff schemes.

Competitive bidding was applied as PERMER, a rural electrification concession project (read more on Wikipedia).

Feed-in tariff s are embodied as Law 26.190, Promotion of Renewable Sources of Energy for Electricity Production. The Law includes financial incentives in terms of deferred tax payments and defines feed-in tariff premiums, for a range of renewable technologies and with an entitlement period of fifteen years. For sources with a generating capacity of up to 30 MW (i.e., geothermal, tidal, biomass, biogas and small-scale hydropower), the feed-in-tariff paid by the Argentine government is EUR 0.37/kWh.
