To be fair, there was an interview with Costello in 2009 where he was asked if he would endorse Abbott as leader of coalition and Costello's reply was 'well not on economic matters'. I have no doubt that Cotello doesn't think much of Abbott's economic credentials but so what? It's one man's opinion and the requirement for a leader to have extensive credentials in this area is over-played anyay. Historically not too many leaders have been economic gurus.
