Not sticking up for Shaws(all these mobs will put themselves and their profit first but in fairness so will most successful businesses). However limited stats can be skewed, politicians for example are masters at it.
I dont remember the exact post wording but it said over a certain period of recent time Shaws had been the biggest seller and Comsec had been the biggest buyers.
What you need for this to be half relevant is all the numbers. Ie Shaws were the biggest seller but how many did they buy in this period? And for that matter Comsec were the biggest buyer but how many did they sell?
Under this vague model perhaps Shaws brokered the sale of 1000,000 shares but bought 999,000 shares, while Comec bought 1000,001 shares and sold 999,000. Numbers only mean something if you have all of them.
Management are not idiots, if Shaws were so bad we would have flicked them. Alistair is our biggest shareholder and he a Scot, hes not gonna sit around and watch his money get screwed out of his hands.
If people want more of the action then i advise (as I said before) contact a well connected broker and see if any of the sophisto action is still up for grabs. If not Im fairly sure not all holders will take up their allowances if thats the way its being done. In which case contact Shaws, your broker or PEK themselves and scream until they give you some of someone elses share(that doesnt want them). Believe it or not in this market I reckon there may be some flexibility in this deal.
If the deal is set in stone and you get what you get perhaps look for leverage in the options if you want more and cheaper exposure. We have to remmeber this is not the main play. This is the game that enables the main play to go on and thats developing Ngualla.
Dont want to appear dismissive of anyones concerns but all we are dealing with ATM is rumours and if the free option thing comes out of it we that will do me. We still have to come up with real hard cash to pay for whatever we take up and in this climate it will be interesting to see how much the little guys can cough up. I think things are pretty tight out there, if the sophistos have or will take up the bulk of it I personally think its a good thing. It guarentees the success of the deal which is foremost.
Thats my take on it, but everyone will have different ideas on this.
Cheers Tretch
